I thought I might record the dates of my trims and what I have had done each time. I guess this is for my own information, so that I don't have to rifle through my diary to see the date of my last trim.
I have since decided that no trims are allowed until at least May 2008! I will probably snip off any splits I find.
|4th June 2009||
90mm approx (3.5")- I still have fairytail ends but wanted to remove the extremely wispy and barely visible ends. Was going to be a split end trim (S&D) but temptation got the better of me!

|19th February 2007||
25mm approx (1")- Wanted to tidy things up, I still have fairytail ends but lost all my gained growth. Didn't measure how much I removed till it had landed on the floor!

|8th December 2005||
7mm approx - A quick V-cut, I just felt like evening things up a little. It was 2 nights before my husband's Work Do and I wanted to feel my best! It was a great night, wore my hair down and curly, and had a compliment from a lady whose opinion I respect :)
(Moon in Pisces - not the best day of the month for trimming but I couldn't wait till the 16th!)
|19th March 2005||
7mm - A V-cut followed by a split end mission! Why I ever did it the other way around before is beyond me, after all doing it this way makes for less split ends. I cut a bit more off the right hand side because the two sides were not even. I also lost some length for my measuring on the 25th but never mind at least it is all healthy!
(Moon in Cancer, as close to Vernal Equinox as possible (it was on the 20th at 00:28 hrs))
|24th November 2004||
7mm - A Split End mission followed by a V-cut! I decided recently that extreme lengths of hair look nicer (wavies that is) when V cut, so why was I trying to grow my layers (and shorter sides) into a blunt cut? I still think blunt looks nicest at, say, mid back but when it gets to tailbone it looks lovely when tapering into a V. I followed Feye's method, with the head tilting forwards, the back lost about 7mm and the front up to 13mm but this section was extremely thin so not much overall length was removed.

|22nd September 2004||
0mm - this was merely a Split End search and destroy mission! I didn't find as many as I thought I would, which is pleasing! I'm hoping to have reached waist by the 28th, and I think I may be there judging by how it is when dry -but am holding off measuring till I'm meant to :)

|22nd May 2004||
25mm. I wasn't planning on cutting till June, however I wanted my frazzly ends tidied before my holiday as the sun and sea breeze might have made it worse. The only problem was that I had two 'goes' at it and thought I was cutting very little, a 'dusting', but in reality what was left on the ground turned out to be about ½" each go, so I must have cut about an inch off! For some reason I let myself do it when I was feeling tired. I think I will learn from that!

|2nd March 2004||
I don't consider this to have been a trim, more like a thorough Split End check. I cut off quite a few, but the very longest ends seemed to be without splits so I didn't lose any overall length.

|1st December 2003||
7mm trimmed approx. I had planned this trim for a couple of months so it was simple to remember and although the ends weren't particularly dry or split I think it did my overall hair good. I did a dusting too, by twisting the sections and removing any sticking out bits and splits along the way.

|30th August 2003||
10mm taken off. I was desperate for a trim before going out for the evening and used the Feye Method at home by myself and I felt my hair really benefitted from it.

|1st May 2003||
3cm approx. First salon visit in two years. Becky at G salon said she'd use "invisible layers" as I was trying to grow out my layers and didn't want them to look obvious. Not sure what she did but for a while it looked tidy and not thinned out, however I decided not to continue going to a salon as I'd rather not have layered hair.

|12th December 2002||
1.5cm approx cut myself (I cut the layers too by holding a vertical section at a time between my fingers and trimming evenly in the same way hairdressers do, and sectioning it off as I went). It was my birthday and I wanted to have nice hair for a wedding I was going to attend a few days later.
